What Building My First WordPress Site Taught Me About Clear Navigation

Building Gold Trail’s website has been my first real experience with WordPress, and the biggest lesson so far is simple: clear navigation matters more than anything else.

When I first set up the site, I just added pages — Home, Work, Skills — without thinking much about how a visitor would move between them. But as soon as I imagined someone landing on the site for the first time, I realized every page should tell them where they are and where to go next.

So I gave the site a simple structure: a Home page that introduces Gold Trail, a Blog that lists every update, and Work and Skills pages for the details. Each one points to the others. If a visitor can always find their way around, the site is doing its job.

That is a lesson I am taking into the app itself: keep it simple, label things clearly, and always give people a way forward.

GoldVisionAi in Progress: From Idea to First Prototype

GoldVisionAi is the name I am giving to the first prototype of Gold Trail — the gold prospecting app I am building. It is still early days: right now the project is moving from a rough idea toward a first working version.

Welcome to Gold Trail: What I’m Building and Why

Gold Trail is a gold prospecting app I am building — a personal project aimed at helping recreational prospectors make the most of their time in the field. The app is still in progress and not yet available to download, but I wanted to document the journey here from the very start.
